چکیده

We investigate the climate feedback parameter α (W m−2 K−1) during the historical period (since 1871) in experiments using the HadGEM2 and HadCM3 atmosphere general circulation models (AGCMs) with constant preindustrial atmospheric composition and time-dependent observational sea surface temperature (SST) and sea ice boundary conditions. In both AGCMs, for the historical period as a whole, the effective climate sensitivity is ∼2 K (α≃1.7 Wm−2 K−1), and α shows substantial decadal variation caused by the patterns of SST change. Both models agree with the AGCMs of the latest Coupled Model Intercomparison Project in showing a considerably smaller effective climate sensitivity of ∼1.5 K (α=2.3 ± 0.7 W m−2 K−1), given the time-dependent changes in sea surface conditions observed during 1979–2008, than the corresponding coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation models (AOGCMs) give under constant quadrupled CO2 concentration. These findings help to relieve the apparent contradiction between the larger values of effective climate sensitivity diagnosed from AOGCMs and the smaller values inferred from historical climate change.

Study of Current and Future Meteorological Drought Conditions using the CMIP5 Model Under RCP scenarios

Reducing or increasing the climate parameters such as temperature and rainfall as a result of the climate change process, causes a variety of droughts. In this study, the effect of climate change on meteorological drought in Yazd province is investigated. For this purpose, the drought time series were determined in two historical periods (1961-2005) and the future (2017-2100) by SPI and SPEI. H...

Prediction of Zarrinehrud River Run-Off in the Climate Change Condition using Artificial Neural Networks

In the present research, the climate change effect on variation of surface runoff of Zarrinehrud located in the Miandoab plain was investigated. In this direction, the scenarios including A1B, A2 and B1 via LARS-WG downscaling model and with applying the HadCM3 general circulation model and artificial neural network model in two different periods (2046-2065, 2080 -2099) were studied. For thi...

Change in species composition and its implication on climate variation in Bali Strait: Case study in 2006 and 2010

Sardinella lemuru is a dominant small pelagic fish (80-90%) caught by purse seiner in Bali Strait, while the remaining 10-20% consist Decapterus spp., Euthynus affinis, and others. This composition typically varies seasonally, whereas Southeast monsoon season was dominated by S. lemuru, while Northwest monsoon season replaced by Decapterus spp. and E. affinis. Fishing trend in the last 14 years...
